University of Wollongong in Dubai unveils new career website
The renowned university launches new recruitment website to attract talent to Dubai.
Keeping pace with the global ‘Employer Branding’ trend, University of Wollongong in Dubai has rolled out a new career website with Dubai-based Hiring Solutions Company.
David Rome, President of UOWD states, “We already hire 100% of our employees through our website because we know that the internet is the most effective way to recruit today. However, hiring academic talent is challenging because these candidates don’t switch jobs easily, the ones who live abroad are not necessarily familiar with all the benefits that Dubai has to offer. We needed to inform our audience about UOWD as well as about Dubai and stand out as ’employers of choice’.
UOWD has used Sniperhire, Hiring Solution Company’s automated recruitment solution in the past, to process applications. The UOWD website had a vacancy page where people could apply but there was little information about the university and its employee value proposition. The new careers website is truer to the University’s image as one of the best employers in Dubai.

People visiting career websites look for information that goes beyond the job postings: they want to know why they should work at UOWD. Our image as an employer needs to be reflected on our website: we offer a great working environment, our employees are happy and we wanted that to be visible.”
The new career website draws more attention to our culture and also features employee testimonials and other engaging content that gives applicants a real perspective of UOWD employees. The site also includes destination information for foreign candidates who do not know about Dubai.
